Sexuality: He's pretty sure he's gay. Even if he hasn't exactly done much in the sex department.

FAMILY HISTORY

The Lovegood-Scamanders have always been a very eccentric family. Lysander and Lorcan Scamander are the twin sons of Rolf Scamander and Luna Lovegood. They were born on June 21st, 2006 in England although they soon went abroad when Rolf went to hunt for a near-extinct plant species.

Lysander was always an intelligent child who loved to write his own short stories. He was Sorted into Ravenclaw upon his arrival at Hogwarts and did very well there, excelling in Herbology and Potions classes. He is very close to his brother and knows the children of his parents' friends (the Potters & Weasleys) very well.

Both of the twins grew up to notice that their mother was quite... Odd. Or rather that she seemed very odd when amongst other people. Although she is very normal in comparison to their grandfather, Lysander and her have argued a number of times over creatures and items which – in his opinion – don't exist. Nowadays he knows better than to ask and grins and bears it instead.

Since leaving Hogwarts, Lysander has taken up a position at his mother's paper, The Quibbler. He doesn't write anything high-profile – Luna thinks his stories are far too normal – but he occupies a Junior Writer position and is quickly learning about newspapers, readership and what makes a good story.

The Scamanders live in Ottery St. Catchpole, although not in Luna's old house. This was due to Xenophilius never really recovering from his stint in Azkaban and his daughter's refusal to have their home too far away from him. However, in the children's younger years, Rolf and Luna were often abroad and took the children with them. Lysander has lived in over ten countries and is quite a linguist. Both of the twins also have extensive knowledge about magical plants and animals due to their parents.

PHYSICAL APPEARANCE

Lysander is quite tall for his age at 6ft, blond and has blue eyes. He wears his hair short and messily styled. He's not very muscular but is in good shape, mainly due to Quidditch. He tends to walk with the fluidity of a dancer which amuses both him and his family considering Lysander can't dance to save his life.

THE PERSONALITY

Lysander is a true Ravenclaw; logical and detached in a crisis and a slave to facts and knowledge. He's also quite like his mother in that he can be more objective than most, even when somebody is being unfair to him or his family.

He's smart, funny and sociable when he wants to be although the need to be alone does hit him every now and again and this is when Lysander will go to his room and curl up with a book. If he's not in the mood to talk and he's interrupted, he will not be polite to the intruder. He's always been quite possessive over what he considers his but this is mostly due to his moving about often as a child and his having to leave pets/books/items behind.

Lysander is very close to his brother, Lorcan, and he's the only person who knows about/of Lysander's sexuality crisis. Lysander wants to tell his mum but he isn't really sure how to come out with 'hi, I'm gay' without his mum reading up on the subject and spouting out random facts about anal sex at the dinner table.

Finally Lysander isn't very people-smart. Although he's perceptive, he sees the best in people and this doesn't always work in his favour. He doesn't consider that people can be devious or downright nasty. People could also make the mistake, if Lysander's tired, of thinking him to be a bit slow. He sometimes daydreams and it will be several seconds before he snaps back into the present.

SPECIAL ABILITIES / STRENGTHS / FLAWS

He dismisses it as fantasy but Lysander has Seen events and their outcomes a couple of times. He thinks it's a coincidence or wishful thinking. He's also exceptionally good at identifying rare plants and magical items.

FUTURE PLOTS

- I'd like to see Lysander foreseeing some of the werewolf attacks. He's only seen happy events so far and seeing something so horrible come true would make him question if his dreams are merely nightmares or him subconsciously Seeing.

- I'd like to see him dealing with the fact that he is gay. Although he pretty much knows he is, he's not done much more than some snogging and heavy petting.
